Y-FIT JOURNEY EVALUATIONS A Y-FIT Journey is a free 1-hour question/answer session with a trainer of your choice. This evaluation is a way for us to get to know our members so they can help set up a program for them to become successful in achieving their goals. The evaluation is constructed to give our members the knowledge of where to begin and the confidence to know what to do and how to do it. Many times people will join a gym and the “gymidation” factor kicks in. This evaluation is one way to solve this issue from occurring. With the love of fitness and people, we are eager to help our members receive the fullest benefits that our facility has to offer. Available for ALL members. Follow up with a FREE Personal Training Session. *Limit one per member/per year.

To take advantage of this over $200 value today!  Stop by the Welcome Desk to schedule your YFIT Evaluation anytime or give us a call at 573-221-0586.

Danielle Wood

NASM-CPT, Group Exercise Instructor

Hi, my name is Danielle Wood, I am the Wellness Coordinator at the YMCA of Hannibal. I have a Personal training certification from (NASM) National Academy of Sports Medicine. I have been a personal trainer going on 4 years now. I am also a group fitness instructor for 5 years. I also have a certification in corrective exercise, group fitness training and weight loss for women. My passion is to teach people the true reason why exercise is important. Not everyone is made to be a size 4 or 6 and that shouldn’t be what exercise is about. It’s the feeling you get after you have achieved your first goal of walking a mile or being able to bend over and touch your toes. Everyone is at a different level when it comes to fitness and nutrition and I love coaching people of all skill types. I enjoy helping people improve their mobility and strength, as well as improving their cardiovascular system. I look forward to working with each of you.

Joe Johnson

CPT, EEP, YMCA Master Personal Trainer

Hi, Joe here! I am a personal trainer who emphasizes movement. Our bodies crave movement even though we don’t always know how to accomplish it. That’s where I can help. My goal as a personal trainer is to help you achieve your goals as they relate to your health and wellness. As a certified trainer with over 10 years of experience, I began my journey looking for a better way of training myself. My style of training has benefited my clients, my family, and myself. I believe that getting back to natural movement patterns helps inspire us to live longer lives. Lives with less pain and more time spent doing the things we love to do.

Joel Richardson

Certified Personal Trainer

Hello members! My name is Joel Richardson and I’ve been training clients here for about 3 years now. Prior to getting my NASM Personal Training certification, I was a Registered Respiratory Therapist for 12 years. I left the medical field to pursue my passion for wellness and fitness. In 2021, I had my left leg amputated due to compartment syndrome. After several months of recovery, I choose to get back into YMCA and see my clients again. Having my condition has given me a whole different perspective on the human body and has been a gift to helping my community. My faith has been the source of my strength and continues to guide me even in difficult times. I am excited and look forward to continuing to work with our members in developing new and healthier habits, meeting their physical goals, and improving their quality of life.
